Grant Shapps

Former Defence Secretary of the United Kingdom, Grant Shapps had led an incredible career in the UK Government.

Most recently, Grant held the position within the UK Ministry of Defence during two global conflicts in Europe & Middle East and was instrumental in shaping the UK’s response to global security challenges. According to President Zelenskyy, “his strategic oversight has been crucial in addressing the conflict in Ukraine.”

Before his role as the Secretary of State for Defence, he was the Secretary of State for the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. Grant developed a scheme to combat the effects of Putin’s illegal invasion of Ukraine by introducing relief to British households and businesses by paying up to half of energy bills. He also pioneered an approach to Net Zero which emphasised technological research and development, leading him to become the first British Minister to invest public money in new nuclear power generation for four decades.

Throughout his varied career in the UK Government and Home Office, Grant has ran complex multi-billion pound organisations, mastered complex briefs in minimal time and has become a recognised world-class communicator.

Amongst all of these roles, Grant is also a qualified pilot and, over 30 years ago, founded an incredibly successful design and print company.
