Chas Howes, the former CFO of SuperGroup Plc, draws on the SuperDry story to educate audiences on  brand strategy and managemen t, inspirational  leadership , and building a  retail  estate in the UK.

A successful career in  finance  has seen Chas strengthen and accelerate businesses through periods of change, including major international expansion programmes; as well as rationalising their financial controls, he has exceeded profit and cash targets through effective performance management.

Part of a small management team at SuperGroup Plc, Chas led a rapid expansion plan which saw the business grow from £41m in 2008 to £314m in 2012.

He was appointed to drive enterprise value through controlled growth, oversaw the sale of the business to external investors, and chaired the project team to list the business on the London Stock Exchange in March 2010, winning IPO of the Year in the process and achieving FTSE250 status within 1 year.

Gaining a wide range of industry and functional experience, Chas evolved his career in finance at various companies, including Cadbury Schweppes, TI Raleigh Cycles, Plessey Telecoms, Grand Metropolitan, Debenhams and The Burton Group.

He also has 16 years in senior roles within the alcoholic beverages industry under his belt, working with Diageo (United Distillers and Guinness), Allied Domecq Wines & Spirits and The Fosters Group.

Chas continues to build his portfolio career. He is involved in non-executive directorships in a variety of industries, ranging from retail, broadcasting and safety clothing.

He is also a trustee for a charity providing education for students with severe and complex disabilities as a path to independent living; an angel investor and mentor to small start-ups for delivering and funding growth prior to an exit; and involved in small business ventures (non-alcoholic drinks) together with a small partnership team.

Having experience in both large businesses and entrepreneurial start-ups, Chas is the ideal keynote speaker to address all kinds of management teams.
