Nish Kumar

Nish Kumar is a critically acclaimed comedic talent known for selling out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe. He has received nominations for Best Show at the 2013 Leicester Comedy Festival and Breakthrough Act at the 2014 Chortle Awards, and he regularly appears on primetime comedy panel shows.

Nish has earned rave reviews for all his performances, with two of his Edinburgh gigs nominated for the prestigious Comedy Award for Best Show in both 2015 and 2016, leading to global tours. 

Beyond stand-up, Nish is a familiar voice and face on both television and radio. He hosted the topical comedy show Newsjack for Radio 4 Extra in 2015/2016 and recently completed the first series of his own topical show for BBC Radio 4, Spotlight Tonight, which he also hosts.

As a regular on the nation’s favourite shows, Nish has appeared on Q.I., Mock The Week, Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News For You, The John Bishop Show, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Russell Howard’s Stand-Up Central, Drunk History, The Alternative Comedy Experience, Live At The Comedy Store, and Alan Davies As Yet Untitled.

In addition to his solo career, Nish collaborates with Tom Neenan in the comedy duo ‘The Gentlemen of Leisure’. Together, they created a highly praised site-specific tour of the British Museum in 2012, earning them an invitation to feature on The Comedy Club for Radio 4 Extra.
