At seventeen, Sabina joined a major life assurance company. However, her passion for acting, sparked at the age of eight, led her to earn a teacher's diploma in drama from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. After 15 years in life assurance, she pursued acting, becoming well-known for her role as Tess Halpin in Ireland’s long-running soap "Fair City". Following her character’s dramatic exit, Sabina took a break from acting to study psychology. She was awarded a government scholarship to complete a PhD in neuroscience at Trinity College Dublin, which she finished in three years.
Dr Sabina Brennan then directed a dementia research programme at Trinity College for seven years. She also led Brain Fit, a major study on brain health, lifestyle, genomics, and dementia risk. Sabina is a dedicated advocate for brain health and supports individuals with neurological conditions. She represents Ireland on the Scientific and Medical Advisory Panel for Alzheimer’s Disease International and advises the Irish Government and the All Party Parliamentary Group on Longevity in the UK.
Her "Super Brain" podcast has been featured as an Apple ‘New and Noteworthy’ podcast and frequently ranks in top ten podcast lists in Ireland and beyond. Sabina provides neuroscientific and psychological insights on radio, TV, as a podcast guest, and in the press globally. She has delivered hundreds of talks to corporate clients, government bodies, and NGOs.
Sabina’s mission to promote brain health has earned her numerous awards, including Science Foundation Ireland’s inaugural award for Outstanding Contribution to Science Communication and the Provost’s Award from TCD for Innovation for Societal Impact. She was a finalist in the US-Ireland Research Innovation Awards (2017) and listed as one of Image magazine’s Women of the Year (2018).
With a unique blend of business experience, acting, and neuroscience expertise, Sabina delivers entertaining and motivational talks that offer a neuroscience perspective on various topics.
