Helen Sharman OBE Shares The Essence of Teamwork in Space During our International Women’s Day Showcase
Helen Sharman | 3 March 2021
Helen Sharman OBE became the first British Astronaut when, in May 1991, she launched on a Russian Soyuz spacecraft and spent 8 days orbiting the Earth, living and working on the MIR Space Station. Helen’s incredible story, which saw her beat over 13,000 applicants, was shared with us during our virtual showcase event ‘Celebrating International Women’s Day’.
Helen shared with our audience how an open and honest collaborative approach, used with every team member across each team they interacted with, was the key foundation upon which their mission was built.
Helen discussed the lessons they learnt during the mission, developments which have been made to the programme and of course the obligatory Earth shot from Space.
