Sophia Amoruso

Sophia Amoruso is the founder of Girlboss and the creative visionary, entrepreneur, and industry disruptor who has gone from one of the most prominent figures in retail to a cultural thought leader re-defining the model of success for the modern women.

Named by Forbes as “Fashion’s New Phenom” and featured on the cover of their June 2016 “Self Made Women” issue, Sophia has gone from one of the most prominent figures in retail to a cultural thought leader re-defining the model of success for the modern women.

The success of #GIRLBOSS, which was originally published on May 6, 2014 and has sold over 500,000 copies worldwide to date, enabled Sophia to launch The Girlboss Foundation, which awards financial grants of $15,000 to women in industries of design, fashion, music, and the arts, to help them build and grow their small businesses. To date, the Girlboss Foundation has awarded over $120,000 to the next generation of female entrepreneurs.

Netflix premiered its adaption of the book in April 2017, with the 13-episode scripted comedy series written by Kay Cannon, with Charlize Theron and Amoruso serving as Executive Producers.
In 2016, The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) inducted Sophia as a member, solidifying her position in the fashion landscape.

In March 2017, in tandem with the announcement of her newly formed Girlboss, Sophia held the inaugural Girlboss Rally, a conference which brought together 500 women to share their wins, losses, life hacks, and more. Today, Sophia is working closely with a talented team at Girlboss to produce daily content across a variety of digital channels to reframe the outmoded concept model of “success” for the modern woman. Sophia has since released her third publication, The Girlboss Workbook, on October 24, 2017.

Sophia is the perfect speaker to address the challenges faced by women in society today and how they can seize the moment to achieve their goals.
