As Chief Executive of Forum for the Future, Sally Uren leads the international non-profit’s mission to create a just and regenerative future, where both people and the planet thrive. With a clear focus on transforming the way we produce, consume, and value food and energy, Sally is reimagining the role of business in today’s society and economy.

Having joined Forum in 2002 as Head of Business Programme, Sally has been instrumental in expanding the organisation from its UK base to a global presence, with thriving programmes across Europe, the U.S., India, and Southeast Asia. Working with a diverse range of non-profits, philanthropic groups, and major global businesses like HSBC, Olam, M&S, and Walgreens Boots Alliance, Sally spearheads both individual partnerships and collaborative projects aimed at tackling complex challenges within our food and energy systems and redefining how businesses operate.

Some of Sally’s current flagship projects include "Growing our Future", a collaborative initiative to scale regenerative agriculture in the U.S.; the "Business Transformation Compass", a groundbreaking guide to creating just and regenerative businesses; and the "Climate and Health Coalition", which is driving private sector action on the health impacts of the climate crisis. Sally is also involved in the "School of System Change", nurturing a global community of changemakers. Her leadership has already driven success in initiatives like "Cotton 2040" and the "Net Positive Coalition", transforming industries and setting new standards for sustainability.

A passionate advocate for systemic change, Sally regularly speaks at leading global conferences, including "GreenBiz", "Sustainable Brands", and "Reuters Events", inspiring others to take action on sustainability. She frequently writes for key publications such as "TIME", "New Statesman", and "The Independent", and has appeared on Sky News and "Ian King Live", influencing how people respond to the social, environmental, and economic challenges of our time.

Sally also brings her expertise to the advisory boards of global businesses like Bentley Motors and EcoVadis, and in 2022, joined the Board of Trustees for the Galapagos Conservation Trust. She has previously served as Independent Chair of DFID’s Business Partnership Fund, advised brands like Burberry and Kimberly Clark, and was Co-Chair of the advisory group for Prince Harry’s "Travalyst" initiative.

With a background in ecology and a deep passion for regenerative business, Sally was awarded an OBE in 2017 for her services to sustainability in business. Her work continues to inspire and push the boundaries of what’s possible in creating a sustainable future.
