Ola Rosling

Ola Rosling is CEO & Co-Founder of Gapminder Foundation which he founded together with his father Hans Rosling and his wife Anna Rosling Rönnlund. Gapminder was set up to bring global statistic trends to a worldwide audience by converting them into moving, interactive and stunning graphics.

Since 1999 Ola lead the development of the Trendalyzer software, which was acquired by Google in 2007 where Anna & Ola turned it into the Google Motion Chart.

As Product Manager for Google Public Data Ola then democratised access to Public Statistics by integrating official statistical sources into Google Search results by introducing DSPL; Data Set Publishing Language.

Ola then went back to Gapminder to develop free teaching materials. He initiated the Ignorance Project in 2013, to measure the widespread lack of knowledge of basic global facts.

Ola's TED Talk, 'How not to be ignorant about the world' which he presented alongside father Hans Rosling, is one of the most popular of all time. Hans demonstrates how what people think they know about the world is statistically unlikely to be correct, and the Ola then provides the solution in terms of showing four ways to be less ignorant.

As a keynote speaker, Ola's fascinating insights into statistics and data, combined with his insightful delivery make him the ideal choice on a varied range of topics for all types of event.
