Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, A Fish called Wanda and Clockwise are just a smattering of the iconic titles synonymous with the comedy legend that is John Cleese.
A Cambridge graduate and an alumni of the Footlights theatre group, John was the first to admit that he could not sing or dance, but was good at making people laugh.
John was put firmly on the map as part of Monty Python, which screened between 1969 and 1974, and regularly tops polls as one of the best sketch shows ever broadcast.
John followed this up with the legendary Fawlty Towers. Playing the loveable yet risible Basil Fawlty, Cleese cemented his place as one of the greats of UK television comedy.
John has appeared in a multitude of feature films including the James Bond series, The Harry Potter series and Shrek.
With huge TV and movie success in the US, John’s comedy heroics have captured the world’s hearts, and in 2009 he published his first article as Contributing Editor to The Spectator: "The real reason I had to join The Spectator".
Away from our screens, John is a prolific speaker on creativity and how to cultivate it, and entrances audiences with his story-telling based speeches, making him an ideal choice for corporate events.
He is also a captivating and charismatic awards host.
