Gemma Milne is a Glasgow-based writer and researcher with a keen focus on the narratives and activities within science and technology. She authored 'Smoke & Mirrors: How Hype Obscures the Future and How to See Past It'. Gemma holds an interdisciplinary research fellowship at Glasgow University and is pursuing doctoral research at Edinburgh University, specialising in corporate futurism. 

Her articles appear in The Guardian, WIRED, Forbes, the BBC, among other publications. She also co-hosts the Radical Science podcast and edits The New Real Editions magazine, which explores the convergence of AI and art. Additionally, Gemma contributes as a Research Associate at the Centre for Technomoral Futures, is a Fellow of the Creative Industries Research Centre Europe, assesses projects for Innovate UK, and serves on the innovation jury for SXSW. 

Her past roles include being a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, an Expert Advisor for the European Commission, and a Scout for Backed VC.
