Charlie McMurdie served for 32 years in the Metropolitan Police where she established and led a world class national cyber-crime capability and enforcement body for the United Kingdom. She worked on the cyber-security team for London 2012 Olympic games and was most recently, the senior cyber-crime advisor for PwC.

Charlie McMurdie started out her career with a degree in policing and psychology, putting this to good use, she has served for 32 years in the Metropolitan Police where she established and led a world class national cyber-crime capability and enforcement body for the United Kingdom. The unit managed to deliver an excess of £1 billion harm prevention within a short 18 months.
She is an acknowledged cyber-crime and security expert and internationally acclaimed authority and advisor on issues within government and industry in relation to the Internet, computing fraud and security sectors. A negotiator and communicator of the highest calibre, Charlie is a stand-out leader who has delivered change programmes and accelerated transition of best value programmes.
Charlie’s personal network spans academia, industry, government, law enforcement, intelligence and security agencies internationally. She aided the building of PCeu a world-class cyber-crime capability and law enforcement body.
Leading the cyber-crime policing response for the London 2012 Olympics, Charlie developed strategic skills, intelligence operations and a global security plan of the highest level, as she personally briefed ministers. Following this feat, Charlie worked as the Senior Cyber Crime Advisor to PwC, which involved advising and leading PwC on a range of global strategic and operational cyber security programmes. Charlie was the cybercrime lead within Breach Aid, PwC’s critical incident multi-discipline response team.
Charlie was previously the head of Fraud - cheque and plastic at Scotland yard. Charlie has also served within murder command, Flying Squad and covert ops giving her a breadth of experience of police operations. Charlie is an honorary fellow at Warwick University’s Cyber Centre. A brilliant and insightful keynote speaker, Charlie opens her audiences up to an unknown world.
