Amar Latif is not one to shy away from a challenge. Despite becoming blind at the age of 18 due to an incurable eye condition, Amar has carved out a remarkable career path that includes roles as a successful entrepreneur and a captivating TV presenter. His journey began in corporate finance as the Head of Commercial Finance at BT, a role he left to launch his own pioneering travel company designed for blind and partially sighted individuals.
His company, Traveleyes, revolutionises travel by pairing sighted and blind travellers, facilitating shared experiences that range from sailing to safaris and mountain treks. This innovative approach not only enhances travel for the visually impaired but also enriches the lives of their sighted companions.
Amar’s adventurous spirit extends into his broadcasting career, featuring in several BBC series where he explores rugged terrains and diverse cultures, showcasing his resilience and thirst for life. His achievements have earned him widespread recognition, including an OBE in the 2023 King’s Birthday Honours List.
