Karren Brady takes on bigger role in new series of the Apprentice

1 September 2009

A friend of Lord Sugar, Karren Brady  has long been associated with The Apprentice , putting candidates through their paces in the interview process.  However, with the departure of Margaret Mountford, Karren is to take the role of adviser to Lord Sugar alongside Nick Hewer .

Margaret announced that she would leave the show at the end of the last series to persue long overdue academic studies.

In 2006, Karren was the team leader on a celebrity version of the BBC show for Comic Relief in March 2006, which saw her lead her team to victory, raising more than £750,000 for charity.

Having been managing director of Birmingham City FC  since the age of 23, when the club was saved from bankruptcy by David Sullivan and the Gold brothers, Karren is a well-known business women and television personality and is a highly regarded motivational business speaker on the corporate circuit.

Karren Brady is likely to step down from her role at Birmingham City  once the club is taken over by Carson Yeung.
