Charles Hazlewood and the British Paraorchestra Release Christmas Single

Charles Hazlewood, the British Paraorchestra, the Kaos Signing Choir for Deaf and Hearing Children and athletes from ParalympicsGB  released ‘True Colours’, with the hope of sending it to Christmas Number 1.

The incredibly moving song, featuring GB Paralympic athletes, Ellie Simmonds and Martine Wright, among others, hope to follow in the footsteps of last year’s inspirational number one from the Military Wives Choir.

The song was released on the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities and is the perfect way to end such an amazing year for sport and for the perception of disabilities. As Tim Hollingsworth, the CEO of the British Paralympic Association said, ‘One of our ambitions for London was to change the way disabled people are perceived. Through the extraordinary performances of our athletes we achieved just that with the nation focusing on what people can do, rather than what they can’t.’

For Charles Hazlewood, the Paraorchestra’s Artistic and Music Director, ‘Each of us wants to be seen for who we are as individuals. This summer the Paralympics revealed the extra-ordinary individuals that make up the ParalympicsGB team… We want to do the same for disabled musicians and indeed all talented disabled people’

Proceeds for the  British Paraorchestra ’s, ‘True Colours’ will go towards The Kaos Singing Choir for Deaf and Hearing Children, the future development of the Paraorchestra and towards supporting the GB Paralympic team at the 2014 Sochi Winter Games.
