Acts Confirmed for Radio 1's Big Weekend

The acts wereconfirmed for this year’s Radio 1 Big Weekend, the annual festival took place from the 24th-26th of May, where there were performances from some of the world’s most famous artists and a host of new artists.

Nick Grimshaw announced the line up on his breakfast show; it was also announced on the Big Weekend website. Radio 1 is famous for its ability to discover new artistes and for DJ’s such as Chris Moyles , Zoe Ball , Reggie Yates  and Fearne Cotton  and its Big Weekend did not disappoint fans.

Awards host and Radio 1 DJ, Vernon Kay tweeted his excitement in the run up to the Big Weekend, saying “One Big Weekend, best weekend in the Radio 1 calendar.”

It was confirmed that Rudimental and Dizzee Rascal would be two of the big names performing on the Friday night stage, followed by The Saturdays and Biffy Clyro the next day. The last day included performances from Bruno Mars, The Script and Olly Murs as well as various other famous artists.
