Vernon Kay
Former model. radio DJ and television presenter, Vernon Kay's charming accent and brilliant wit make him a household name. Best known for presenting All Star Family Fortunes and Beat the Star, Vernon is an adept ceremony host and presenter. Taking his skills across the pond, Vernon has worked for ABC, continuing his presenting success he remains a regular fixture on our television screens.
Vernon Kay is the awards host from Bolton who created a stir with his spontaneous wit and charming accent. His natural on-screen charm has endowed Vernon with unprecedented success on the T4 team at Channel 4, as well as presenting stints on Hit Me Baby One More Time on ITV and NBC. He hosted the BBC2 quiz show Head Jam and ITV's Celebrities under Pressure, E4's Wife For William and The Grill for Channel 4. Vernon also hosted the Saturday night show Boys and Girls on Channel 4.
The boy from Bolton first tasted fame when he was spotted by a model scout from Select at the BBC’s Clothes Show Live. He began a successful modelling career but it was not long before he was picked out for stardom by Channel 4 when he won ‘Model of the Week’ on The Big Breakfast.
In 2000 Vernon landed a regular gig on Channel 4’s T4, it was here he cemented his name as a household presenter. Vernon was with T4 until 2006 and during that time his love of music shone through as he became a presenter for BBC2’s Top of the Pops Plus, and the spin off series Top of the Pops @ Play for Play UK.
After landing much sought-after gigs on Radio 1 and Radio X, Vernon went on to host a number of
high profile entertainment shows including All Star Family Fortunes, Splash!, Just the Two of
Us (alongside his wife, Tess Daly), followed by co-presenting the live NFL coverage for Sky Sports hosting The Blueroom at England Rugby home games.
In 2007 Vernon hosted a variety of shows for both BBC1 and ITV1 – he started the year by co-hosting Just the Two of Us with his wife, Tess Daly. He then fronted the ITV1 hit show Vernon Kay’s Gameshow Marathon, and as a massive Elvis fan, he jumped at the chance to spend a summer travelling the globe attempting to find The World’s Greatest Elvis for BBC1.
Always bringing a touch of showbiz glamour to his events, Vernon continues to prove himself as an incredibly popular host, having recently done the Opticians Awards and Disneyland Paris’ 30 Years Quiz Night. He is also a DJ and has incredible music knowledge, bringing flair personality and a sense of fun to his events, ensures that he always gives the crowd their best night out!
With the winning combination of charm and wit, he is a complete natural in front of large audiences and receives outstanding feedback from every appearance.
