Margherita Taylor is one of the best-loved faces and voices on British radio and TV.
A multitalented awards host and presenter, covering political and cultural issues as well as what’s hot in the pop music scene, Margherita hosts shows on Heart FM and Classic FM.
She brings her feel-good, positive presenting style to Heart after 18 years with sister station Capital FM.
Margherita hosted the live announcement of London’s 2012 Olympic bid and to present a Radio 2 series on the history and heritage of Calypso music. She hosted Live8 from Rome on behalf of all of the independent commercial radio networks and was Mercury Music Prize judge.
One of Margherita’s most interesting assignments was her personal request from then-Prime Minister Tony Blair to interview him, which led to her co-hosting UK Leaders Live, a 90-minute Q&A session with all three party leaders, broadcast across all commercial radio networks.
Margherita is heavily involved in The Prince’s Trust and Help A London Child. As an Ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, she has hosted Capital Radio’s Party In The Park for the past seven years. Other broadcast credits include presenting ITV1’s London’s Hottest Properties, GMTV features and the Capital Radio Drive Time show live from New York.
After completing a degree in Media and Communication, Margherita won a ‘Search For A Star’ competition, and was presenting her own show for a local station before being headhunted by London’s flagship commercial station Capital Radio.
Her TV career was ignited with ITV’s junior version of Gladiators, Train To Win, The Ozone and Heartland. Margherita was also a reporter during the final series of The Clothes Show – a job she had dreamed of since she was at school. Margherita was also a regular presenter for BBC1's Electric Circus, and fronted Carlton’s flagship weekly music show Videotech before co-hosting Channel 4’s No Balls Allowed with Dermot O’Leary.
Margherita then presented cult prime time show T4 Sunday with Vernon Kay. The pair then hosted the Smash Hits T4 Poll Winners Party, soon after Margherita had hosted the channel’s coverage of the MTV Europe Music Awards. She also presented the prestigious DanceStar Music Awards. Presenting BBC Holiday programmes and fulfilling a lifelong ambition to join the regular presenting team of Top Of The Pops followed.
Travelling is her passion and Margherita has enjoyed a road trip across the USA, swam in the Blue Lagoon in Iceland, climbed Ayres Rock in Australia, skydived in Los Angeles and shared a meal with monks at a monastery in Hong Kong.
