Sustainable Diets: Sustainability Director at Huel, Jessica Sansom, in conversation with MD Nick Gold
In this episode of 'In conversation with' on the topic of sustainability, the food sustainability professional Jessica Sansom joined our MD Nick Gold to talk about sustainable diets.
There are two global issues in terms of food sustainability. As we have over 2 billion people around the world who are overweight and obese, the first issue that needs to be tackled is what should we eat to benefit our health. The other one concerns the impact of our diet on climate change, biodiversity, and so on. About a quarter of global greenhouse gas emissions come from the food system; thus, we should consider consuming more sustainable food and beverages to benefit the planet.
Jessica is currently working for Huel in their quest to offer a food solution for the future. She is developing their sustainable nutrition program to provide food solutions that offer complete nutrition with minimal environmental impacts. Through their work, Huel wants to raise consumer awareness of the role of food in tackling global sustainability and health crises.
Jessica's experience from the inside of a growing company whose focus is on CSR as much as on sales and customer service makes her the perfect freelance consultant and corporate speaker to inspire entrepreneurs and established business audiences equally.
