Janet Street-Porter’s career is a dynamic journey through print, radio, and television, spanning over five decades. Known for her no-nonsense attitude and straight-talking style, she’s a regular panellist on ITV’s "Loose Women" and writes for the "Daily Mail" and "Independent on Sunday".
Her media career began in the late 1960s as a fashion writer before moving into radio with LBC and then TV in 1975. Janet became known for presenting "The London Weekend Show" and creating series like "Network 7", which won a BAFTA for its originality. She later became Head of Youth and Entertainment Features at the BBC, where she developed over 35 series, including "This Is Your Life" and "Fantasy Football League".
Janet returned to print in 1999 as Editor of the "Independent on Sunday" but has continued to appear on TV shows such as "The F Word", "I’m a Celebrity", "Question Time", and "Have I Got News For You".
A passionate advocate for art and architecture, Janet has built two houses and created programmes on Britain’s architecture for Channel 4 and the BBC. She’s also a keen walker, having served as President of the Ramblers and presented several shows on Britain’s best walks.
