George Russell

George Russell, a 25-year-old Formula 1® driver for Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, is entering his third season in 2024. Hailing from King's Lynn, he aspires to become a World Champion.

George began his motorsport career in karting, quickly making a name for himself by winning multiple championships, including the prestigious CIK-FIA European Junior Champion title in 2012 and 2013. He transitioned to single-seater racing in 2014, winning the BRDC Formula 4 Championship in his debut season. His success in various junior formulas, including a dominant stint in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, led to his Formula 1 debut with Williams Racing in 2019.

Despite challenges, George's performance remained stellar, notably stepping in for Lewis Hamilton at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix and nearly securing a victory. In 2022, his first season with Mercedes, he claimed his maiden Formula 1 victory at the Brazilian Grand Prix and secured eight podium finishes, ending the year fourth in the championship standings.

As the 2024 season approaches, George continues his pursuit of excellence with Mercedes-AMG Petronas.
