Steven Cochrane is a highly-regarded keynote speaker on economics. He is MD of Moody's Analytics, he oversees the U.S. regional forecasting service, directs the research and development activities of the company, including its recently introduced Global Cities service and Steve also edits the Regional Financial Review.
An analyst with Moody’s Analytics since 1993, Dr. Cochrane has been featured on Wall Street Radio, the PBS NewsHour, and CNBC. He earned a PhD in regional science at the University of Pennsylvania, a master's degree at the University of Colorado at Denver, and a bachelor's degree at the University of California at Davis.
Many of Dr. Cochrane’s consulting projects focus on state and local economic development. He has worked on a project for the industrial structure and comparative economic advantages for Sonoma County CA, he has also completed a 10-year update that modelled alternative outlook scenarios based on recommended improvements in labour force quality and green industry initiatives. His other projects have included studies of the changing industrial structure and economic competitiveness of Arizona, North Dakota and Pennsylvania, and the city and county of San Francisco.
