Marc Randolph

Netflix co-founder, executive mentor and angel investor Marc Randolph is a veteran of Silicon Valley; over four decades, he has founded, invested in, and served as an advisor to several successful start-ups. Charismatic, modest and knowledgeable, Marc is a regular  keynote speaker  at industry events, where he delivers inspirational messages about overcoming adversity, anecdotes relating to the starting and growing of Netflix, and concrete takeaways for how others can bring innovation  back to their companies.

Previously, Marc served as the founding CEO of Netflix – the online movie and TV streaming service – until 2004; he was also the executive producer of its website and a member of its board of directors.

More recently, he co-founded analytics software company Looker Data Sciences.

After six startups, Marc’s objective is to assist others in achieving success by helping early stage founders grow their business, establish a strong working relationship with their employees and co-founders, and figure out how to maintain balance in their lives while doing so.

He extensively invests his time in getting to know the founding team - their strengths and weaknesses – and to understand their product, competitors and market.

Drawing on his personal experience as a serial entrepreneur  and investor in numerous tech ventures, Marc currently serves variously as an advisor, CEO coach, and/or board member to five other startups.

Moreover, Marc works extensively with young entrepreneur programs, and is a trustee of the non-profit National Outdoor Leadership School.

He lives in Santa Cruz, California.
