Danny Crates is a Paralympic gold medallist, former world champion, and experienced speaker specialising in high performance, resilience, and leadership. Drawing on a distinguished career in elite sport and over 25 years of experience in corporate development, Danny works with organisations and teams to help improve focus, adaptability and sustained performance.
Following a life-changing accident at age 21, Danny returned to sport and went on to represent Great Britain in athletics, winning gold at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games and holding the British 400m and 800m records—a legacy that still stands. He has since applied the principles of elite performance to his work with businesses, developing practical frameworks that support resilience, change management and leadership in demanding environments.
Danny’s keynote sessions are designed to be actionable and outcomes-focused, combining clear strategies with insights from both sport and business. Clients also have the option to include workbooks and follow-up workshops to help embed the learning within their teams. His sessions are regularly delivered at leadership summits, corporate retreats, and events for FTSE 100 companies and global brands.
Alongside his speaking work, Danny is an experienced host and conference MC, known for his professionalism and ability to engage audiences across a range of formats—from panel discussions to awards ceremonies. His background also includes roles as a London 2012 Ambassador and Great Britain’s flagbearer at the 2008 Paralympic Games.
