Geeta Pendse

An experienced freelance journalist and twice RTS nominated presenter, Geeta Pendse has worked extensively for several broadcasters, including the BBC and has over 15 years of experience presenting across a diverse range of content. With natural communication skills and warmth, she is an incredibly engaging broadcaster and storyteller.

Whilst multi-faceted and experienced in a number of areas, Geeta Pendse has developed a specialism within the Arts. Alongside creating original and daily content for BBC news outlets, she has also presented Radio 4’s ‘Opening Night’, giving listeners a backstage pass to the best in theatre, playwriting and live performance across the UK, as well as ‘Civilisations Stories: The Art of Mining’, a documentary for BBC Four. Geeta also presents a weekly arts show for BBC Radio Leicester, showcasing local talent whilst exploring arts and culture in a more accessible way.

A warm and popular choice within the live and corporate sphere, Geeta has hosted a wide variety of prestigious events including ‘An Evening with Mary Portas’ for her ‘Work Like A Woman’ book tour and 'Curve Theatre Season Preview’ at Curve Theatre. Geeta also chaired an ‘In Conversation with Lionel Shriver’ at The Derby Book Festival and delivered the opening keynote for The Derby Museum Trust’s new ‘World Collection’ gallery. In addition, Geeta has presented a number of Facebook Live broadcasts for BBC News, as well as a series of online broadcasts from Manchester Art Gallery for The Guardian.

A practicing yoga teacher, Geeta is passionate about creating content that delves into diverse cultures and religions and enjoys making programmes that focus on wellbeing or the idea of community. She recently interviewed the founder of Headspace, an online healthcare company specializing in meditation, and explored the spiritual roots of yoga in a film for Sunday Morning Live on BBC One.

When not broadcasting or teaching yoga, Geeta is a trustee for Writing East Midlands and is also a patron of the Rosie May Foundation, a UK based charity working to empower vulnerable women and keep families together in South Asia. She recently visited a project working with survivors of trafficking and domestic abuse in Kathmandu, Nepal.
