Winner of the 2018 Best Show at the Edinburgh Fringe, Rose Matafeo is a comedian, writer, director and actor and a rising star in her field. Her fantastic 2018 show Horndog was also nominated for best show at the 2018 Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Her incredible year saw her gain an international following and in May 2019, Rose made her US TV debut with a critically acclaimed stand-up performance on Conan O’Brien’s hugely popular talk show, Conan (TBS).

Away from stand-up, 2019 also saw Rose’s own sitcom, Starstruck, commissioned by the BBC in the UK and HBO in the US, as well as being picked up in both Australia and her native New Zealand. On top of writing the show, Rose will also play the lead role; a millennial in London juggling two dead-end jobs and navigating the awkward morning-after-the-night-before when she discovers the complications of accidentally sleeping with a film star.

Already a regular face on UK screens, Rose has appeared on The Royal Variety Performance (ITV), Have I Got News For You (BBC One), W1A (BBC One), Unspun with Matt Forde (Dave), Jon Richardson’s Ultimate Worrier (Dave) and The Great British Bake Off: An Extra Slice (Channel 4).

She has also written, produced and starred in three series of New Zealand’s TV3 comedy Funny Girls, as well as being a regular on panel show 7 Days (Three Now NZ).

In 2016, Rose was nominated for Best Newcomer at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and also made her Edinburgh debut with her show Finally Dead, which enjoyed success from both audiences and critics. It was described by The Guardian as “an emphatic start to Matafeo’s fringe career”. This was followed up next fringe with her show ‘Sassy Best Friend’, which garnered glowing reviews from critics and audiences alike, and was one of the most talk about shows that year.

Rose has also performed at Just For Laughs Festival in Montreal and has opened for Reggie Watts and Rob Delaney in both New Zealand and the UK.

Her quirky, hilarious performances are a great choice for corporate events and her friendly and relatable style is guaranteed to win over audiences of all kinds.
