Sara Cox
Sara is best known for holding the helm of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show for 4 years during which time she recorded ratings of over 8 million listeners. She made her big break into entertainment with The Girlie Show (C4) in 1996 and has since presented numerous TV and Radio. Her recent work includes hosting Never mind the Buzzcocks, The Apprentice You’re Fired and the Eurovision Song contest.. Sara is in demand as a writer and writes a weekly column for the Sunday Mirror magazine.
Bolton lass Sara Cox is loved by millions of Radio 2 listeners, where she presents her teatime show every weekday 4-7pm.
Sara developed a passion for broadcasting at BBC Radio 1 and presented The Breakfast Show for four years, reaching eight million listeners.
She hosts the popular weekly TV book club programme, Between the Covers on BBC2 and is a regular co-host on BBC1’s Morning Live.
Other BBC TV work includes Back In Time, The Great Pottery Throwdown & the dating series, Love in the Countryside as well as Britain’s Top Takeaways (BBC2).
Sara’s TV career began with The Girlie Show, and she’s gone on to present numerous shows for the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. She is a regular co-presenter of Radio 4’s Loose Ends and has written columns for the Mirror and Guardian.
Her memoir, Till the Cows Come Home (2018), was a Sunday Times bestseller as was her hugely successful debut novel Thrown (2022). In March 2024, Sara published her second novel, Way Back.
Winner of The Best DJ Award from both Smash Hits and The Sun, Sara’s eccentric and bubbly personality is a true breath of fresh air!
