Laura Kuenssberg

The BBC's Political Editor since July 2015, Laura is a familiar face as a Chief Correspondent and presenter on Newsnight. She has also fronted 5 Live, The Politics Show on BBC 2 and the Westminster hour on Radio 4 and previously worked at ITV as Business Editor. She has a solid knowledge of current affairs and a lauded ability to analyse hard news.

Formerly as Business Editor for ITV and prior to that Chief Political Correspondent for the BBC, Laura won acclaim for her coverage of the 2010 General Election and the formation of the Coalition government. 

Other major stories Laura has covered include Barack Obama's Presidential campaign; the build-up to the Iraq war; and the accession of the Eastern European countries into the EU from Prague, Warsaw and Berlin.

In 2014 she joined Newsnight as their Chief Correspondent and presenter.
